Dr. Lou hong of the institute attended an international conference in the republic of Fiji

On September 6, 2019, Dr. Louhong, senior partner of guangdong xingxing law firm, went to Fiji to attend the international conference "globalization in practice: opportunities and challenges" co-sponsored by Fiji bar association and international bar association (IBA). More than 300 lawyers from more than 30 countries and territories including China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, tonga, vanuatu and Solomon islands were invited to attend the conference. Shenzhen bar association was invited by vice President han jun, Dr. Lou hong and lawyer kou xuan.

President Jioji Konusi Konrote of the republic of Fiji attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the conference. President konot extended a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests. President konot pointed out that the process of globalization was deepening. The republic of Fiji is the economic and transportation hub of the south Pacific islands. Fiji has beautiful scenery and developed tourism. All countries are welcome to invest in Fiji. It is also hoped that the Fiji bar association can strengthen contacts with lawyers from all over the world and integrate into the process of globalization. Laurel Vaurasi, President of the Fiji bar association, and Wati Seeto, vice President of the Fiji bar association, addressed the distinguished guests. Peter Koves, chairman of the council of the international bar association, addressed the conference by saying that the international bar association was honoured to co-host the conference with the Fiji bar association. Han jun, vice President of the shenzhen lawyers association, on behalf of the shenzhen lawyers association, introduced the internationalization of the shenzhen lawyers' profession to the guests.

Dr. Lou hong participated as an expert in the second section of the conference, entitled "international law firms and international clients: the key to business development". This panel discussion was chaired by the vice chairman of the affairs committee of the international bar association, Mr. Takimoto yashiro, a Japanese lawyer.

Dr Lou believes that in the context of globalization, cross-border investment and merger and acquisition projects are widely carried out, and cross-border commercial disputes are also increasing. As Chinese companies go global, they need comprehensive cross-border legal services, which inevitably requires Chinese lawyers and foreign lawyers to work together to meet challenges. Shenzhen is an important international open window of China, with advanced technology and financial industry. It is a good choice for foreign enterprises to invest in China. Dr Lou also Shared his experience in developing international business in Hong Kong and Japan. During the interactive session, the audience asked about the impact of China's "One Belt And One Road" initiative on Fiji and how Chinese companies should respect the laws and culture of their host countries when investing abroad. Dr. Lou gave a detailed answer and explanation. The discussion was lively and the audience applauded warmly for the comments of the guests.

On the evening of September 6, the Fiji bar association hosted a banquet for guests from all over the world. Anthony Gates, former chief justice of the Supreme Court of the republic of Fiji, attended and addressed the banquet. During the dinner, Dr. Lou hong sat next to justice Gates. Gates Shared his trip to Beijing several years ago to visit China's supreme people's court and meet with President xiao Yang, and welcomed more Chinese legal professionals to Fiji.

Participants agreed that the conference, a legal event in the south Pacific, had strengthened the friendship between legal professionals and established new business contacts. They looked forward to more opportunities for international exchanges in the future.
